This cute session completely passed me by and I missed blogging it! I am terribly behind anyway so what’s one more from the past! This adorable couple came in with lots of ideas that I just loved. They are huge Dallas Cowboys fans and were getting ready to get the royal treatment in one of their new suites. Little Paxton was already hitting the big time and he didn’t even know it!

Sometimes we feel so blessed to have such amazing clients. Prior to Coty’s maternity portrait session, we sat down for her design consultation in our Fort Worth studio. She described her vision for her maternity session as casual, fun, and not so serious! Bringing big brother made it anything but boring! What a sweet little guy! This family had such a great chemistry, they were a cinch to photograph.

I am always thrilled to photograph a mommy to be. For a photographer, it poses unique challenges in proper lighting and flattering poses for beautiful results. The shape of a woman’s belly, the connection she has with her baby, and the chemistry she and her significant other share inspire me creatively like no other type of session. Maternity sessions are always so custom because of the pure nature of the subject. Some mothers are more conservative and others prefer artistic nudes. Some want to be in the great outdoors and others prefer the dramatic backdrops and intimate lighting our studio provides.

Maternity photography is best accomplished at 28-32 weeks but it’s very dependent on body type, height, and whether this is your first baby. We definitely want you to *look* pregnant, however pregnancy portraits are not as fun and relaxing when you are miserable. Call us to discuss when the appropriate timeline is for you. We have specific portrait packages just for those wanting to book both a maternity session and newborn session that offer considerable value. We photograph on location and in our centrally located Fort Worth studio. Captures by Erin delights in creating photographic art that showcases the pregnant belly while making you look your most beautiful.
